All rooms face the ocean and give a breath taking view! Service was friendly, the staff helpful, and always smiling! The location was perfect for me.....towards the not so busy end of the beach so it was more quiet but still walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The parking garage is convenient and secure (you have to use your room key to enter) I chose valet and the valet guys were fast and friendly. The restaurant connected (Mahi Mah's) was excellent as well. I had breakfast there almost every morning and ate dinner there once. The servers never made me feel rushed and were patient with a newbie to Virginia beach. I did not stop by the concierge desk, and the concierge, Brian, called me and was extremely helpful! I met him at the concierge stand and he recommended some great restaurants and attractions. I wish I could name other staff members who assisted me so they could get recognition too!

Beautiful building, comfortable rooms, amazing location and views all while maintaining a quiet place to sleep, what more could you ask for? Well, we found the entire staff happy to be there and that makes a huge difference. Everyone there from the valet to front desk to wait staff to the house keeping smiled and asked how things are and if we needed anything. They made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We plan on going back next month for another weekend get away!
I was traveling from Rehoboth to visit with a friend in Chesapeake, VA over the Christmas/New Year Holiday. We decided to stay one night in Virginia Beach and wanted oceanfront. We made reservations for Dec 30th and had two other families joining us. We arrived early hoping to insure our room type and location. Not only did they check us in right away but made special arrangements for all of us to be on the same floor.
The hotel has a great location; all rooms are oceanfront, very clean and the latest accommodations. Whenever we would pass an employee in the hallway, they would say hello and ask how our stay was. The restaurant Mahi Mah’s is beautiful, has oceanfront views, great specials and great food. Huge plus is the menu selections for adults and kids. They had all of our favorites. For sports it’s the perfect location; they have a ton of TV’s which shows every sporting event airing at the same time, the guys loved it.
When checking out we were rushed and I completely forgot my Samsung tablet which I placed in the room safe. I didn’t miss it until we returned home two days later. I called and ask for the manager and got the General Manager, Bob von Esmarch. He immediately understood my concern and Bob personally went to the room to check the safe. Luckily no one had used the safe and my tablet was found.
Knowing how important this item was, Bob personally went to the FedEx store and contacted me for all of the needed information to make sure my tablet made it home safely. I received my tablet the very next day exactly the way I left it. We stay in hotels all of the time and have never had the attention and care like the staff at the Ramada at the Beach. Bob, whenever traveling to Virginia Beach you have a guest for life! You are doing a great job with your staff and it’s obvious they enjoy working for you.
The staff was fantastic. The view of the ocean from the rooms was fantastic. The service was friendly.
There were a lot of us that had not seen each other for many years. I know we were a noisy group but the staff would put tables together for us at the restaurant and made our visit memorable.
The beds were comfortable. Many comments reflected that we would certainly return. I would stay at the Ramada again. Having free Wi-Fi allowed my son to keep up with his online college class during his visit.
